Born in Krasnodar, Russia, Anastasia Nelen graduated Kuban State University with the Diploma of Excellence, specialty “Architecture”. She is a member of both Russian Geographic Society and Russian Art Photographers Union.
Anastasia started taking photos in 2008 while studying in the secondary school and already in 2010 she became the winner of a prestigious Russian national photo contest “Best of Russia” and designed the cover of its catalogue.
The main directions of her photos are social photo report and travel photo. She first started paying attention at these genres during the expedition of Russian National Geographic in Tyva Republic in 2012. Expeditions influenced all her creativity and her life style.
Anastasia is the winner of some national scale photo contests and a participant of numerous exhibitions.
In 2015 her photo “Vera” became the winner of the Russian National Geographic’s photo contest “Multinational Russia”.
The Tuva cycle photos became participants of different Russian National Geographic’s exhibitions in Russia and semi-finalists of the photo contest “The Most Beautiful Country”.
In the end of 2019 Anastasia’s photo project “Gold of Tuva” became the prize winner of the national prize “My Planet” for discoveries in the domain of journeys, a participant of the national award “Crystal compass” 2020 and the winner of the travel-bloggers award “Star under backpack” in the nomination “Etnomedia“.
Anastasia’s works are bright, vivid and original. She shows the real life in its true colors and in all its forms.
